Amber stood outside of Grauman's Chinese Theater. On the ground in front of her, maps advertised the homes of various celebrities. Amber reached down and picked one up. Opening it, she considered heading for Lucille Ball's house.
Something on the ground caught her eye. It was a pamphlet advertising Hollywood ghost tours. Well, she certainly didn't want that.
Setting her bag beside her, Amber sat down on the sidewalk and tried to evaluate her course of action. She was tired. And she was hungry. She was really sick of living on crackers and granola bars. She wanted to find real food somewhere. There had to be some. And survivors, there had to be survivors in this town. She was on the other side of the country from her home, had no idea if her family was alive, and there were zombies everywhere.
Well, this was great. Things were coming along so well.
Amber looked around. She'd always heard that the theater was in a lousy part of town, and it looked like it had been lousy before the outbreak. She needed to find herself a hotel....hide out in one of the rooms for a little while. Maybe that would give her time to sort out a better plan than sitting on the street.
Pushing herself off the ground, Amber opened the map and saw the Roosevelt Hotel marked. She'd head there after all. It was the original plan she'd been going with all along. And it was better than no plan. Shouldering her bag, she headed off down the street.
